Kreitner Elementary Title I teacher Steffiny Sweet was recognized today as October 2025 Kahok Educator of the Month. 

The award was presented by Kreitner Principal Dr. Kari Daugherty and local Benjamin F. Edwards financial advisor Jason Rehg.  

In her nomination of Ms. Sweet, Dr. Daughtery wrote:

"This year, Steffiny has stepped back into the roll of lead teacher in our building, and she is making such an impact in that way.  She is a great resource to coworkers when they have questions, need advice, or want help solving a problem.   She is always helping to make our school a better place to be. She is a member of several school committees and is focused on making sure students and parents are involved.  

Several coworkers noted that she consistently goes above and beyond for her colleagues and to provide the best education possible for her students.  One colleague stated "My kids light up when they see her and so do I.  She brings me joy..."  Overwhelmingly, Steffiny is recognized because she is knowledgeable, dependable, helpful and a significant, wonderful part of our school family!."
