Kahok Nation,

Beginning in January, a dedicated group of students, staff, parents, and community members came together to form two important committees for our district: Portrait of a Graduate and Strategic Planning.

The Portrait of a Graduate committee focused on identifying the essential skills and qualities we want our students to develop during their time in high school.  Meanwhile, the Strategic Planning committee worked to update the district’s mission and vision statements (see below), and to establish goals that will guide our progress over the next five years.

These goals center around:

• Student Success

• Student Support and Services

• Finances, Facilities and Safety

• Extra-curricular Programs

• Staff Recruitment and Retention

• Family and Community Engagement

The work of these committees will serve as a roadmap for our district’s future.  Specific actions will be developed and implemented to ensure we reach the goals outlined in the plan over the next five years and updates on our progress will be provided annually.

Attached, you’ll find the Portrait of a Graduate and Strategic Planning documents. Please take time to review them at your convenience.  We are incredibly grateful for the nearly 60 volunteers who generously gave their time and energy throughout this process.  Their commitment to improving our district is truly appreciated as we are grateful for the progress our district has made but realize, we still have work to do.
