We had our monthly assembly led by third grade today.  They taught us some motions to help with our daily affirmation.  The student council also presented our theme days for next week’s spirit week.  Monday-80’s day, Tuesday-Cardinals Day, Wednesday-Career Day, Thursday-Crazy hair/hat day and Friday-Pajama Day.  We are asking that you donate a dollar for each day your child dresses in the theme.  The money raised will go to support the Miner’s Theater in downtown Collinsville.

·       There will be an Ice Cream and Book Event funded by: The Title I and the Early Childhood Block Grants.  Come join the fun this Saturday, April 22nd at Pleasant Ridge Park (1345 Pleasant Ridge Road) in Collinsville from 11-1 p.m. to celebrate books and ice cream!  There will be a little incentive for all kids, an ice cream treat and of course books for every child while supplies last.

·       Papa John’s pizza night is tonight.  Flyers will be coming home tonight.

·       3rd and 4th graders will be singing at the Cardinals game on Tuesday, April 25th.  Hope to see many of you there.

·       There is a Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 24th at 6:30.

·       Our Talent show will be held Thursday, April 27th at 6:30 in the evening.    All are welcome.

·       4th grade track jamboree is Thursday, May 4th

·       The last day of school for this school year is Tuesday, May 23rd. This is a full attendance day.

·       Teacher appreciation week is the first week of May.  It’s always a nice time to write a letter to your child’s teacher with a few words of appreciation.

·       May 19th is our school carnival day.  We need lots of volunteers for this day.  Information will come out much later about this.

·       May 16th is Kindergarten graduation.  Laing and Anderson at 6:30, Madura, Schantz and Stirnaman at 7:15.

·       May 22nd is our field day in the afternoon.

Looking for a fun book for your child(ren).  I was just introduced (Thanks, Nolan K.) to this book, Goodnight  St. Louis a few weeks ago and it is fabulous.
